Blind Tech Community (BTC), founded by Sandeep Gautam, is a pioneering initiative dedicated to empowering visually impaired individuals through technology, education, and career development.
What began as a personal passion for Sandeep to assist fellow visually impaired individuals in navigating the digital world has blossomed into a comprehensive support system, including a thriving online community, a dedicated mobile application, a helpline, and educational programs.

The Genesis: A Passion for Empowerment
2016: The Inspiration
Sandeep Gautam's journey into the world of accessible technology began, fueled by an admiration for blind YouTubers creating content using screen readers and audio recordings.
2017: YouTube Beginnings
Launched "Sandeep Gautam Technical Hindi" YouTube channel, creating videos often in challenging environments, driven by positive feedback from his growing audience.
2019: Return to YouTube
After a hiatus due to technical difficulties, Sandeep re-entered the YouTube space with renewed dedication.
2021-2022: Collaboration
Joined and revitalized the "Interesting Tech for VI" channel with Kuldeep Bahera, reaching 1K subscribers and solidifying their commitment to creating valuable tech content.
Building a Community: From WhatsApp to a Unified Platform
Recognizing the need for a more cohesive support system, Sandeep, along with other visually impaired YouTubers, established a unified WhatsApp group called "Blind Tech Community" on March 25, 2022.
This initiative aimed to consolidate scattered online groups, providing a central hub for technical discussions, problem-solving, and mutual support. The group quickly became a vibrant forum, addressing numerous queries and fostering a sense of camaraderie among its members.
Innovation in Accessibility: BTC Tools and Beyond
BTC Tools
Launched on the Play Store on June 12, 2023, BTC Tools was designed to be an all-in-one solution, offering multiple accessible features and tools.
BTC AI
An AI-powered tool that has greatly benefited users by providing instant support and information.
A significant advancement was the creation of BTC AI, an AI-powered tool that has greatly benefited users by providing instant support and information. Further enhancing their offerings, BTC launched features like "Type N Learn" and "Special News," which provides job alerts and relevant government schemes for visually impaired individuals. The overwhelming positive response and constant user engagement underscored the critical need and impact of BTC Tools.
Direct Support and Education: BTC Helpline and Skill Development
BTC Helpline
Launched in 2024, this 24/7 technical support service is specifically for visually impaired individuals in India – a first of its kind.
Web Development Course
Launched in September 2024 to equip visually impaired individuals with in-demand programming skills.
Beyond support, BTC recognized the critical importance of education and skill development for career advancement. In September 2024, BTC launched comprehensive courses in Web Development, aiming to equip visually impaired individuals with in-demand programming skills. Building on this success, 2025 saw the introduction of additional courses, including Hindi and English Typing, Acting, and Computer Basics.
The Future Vision: A Registered NGO for Comprehensive Empowerment
BTC is now formalizing its commitment to service by establishing itself as a Section 8 company (NGO). This strategic move will enable BTC to broaden its scope and offer even more extensive support to the visually impaired community. The core mission of the BTC NGO is clear: to provide education and foster career growth.
